Dear friends of the Sycamore Trust,

Dare to be Different Day is just a fortnight away – have you signed up yet?  Our plan is to encourage people to wear something unusual on Friday 5th April and donate £1 to the Trust! What are you wearing on the day?  Download everything you need here: http://bit.ly/DareToBeDifferentDay

What are you wearing? 😊

The countdown is on for #DareToBeDifferent day in a fortnight's time.  What will you be wearing?  Odd socks? How about a false beard?  Maybe even a colourful wig?  Whatever you decide is fine with us because it's all for a good cause.  World Autism Week is 1st to 7th April and we have a range of activities lined up to make sure that we focus on all the good things that we do whilst we have this opportunity.  All you need to know is here: http://bit.ly/DareToBeDifferentDay

Alpha Club under way

Our new Alpha Club has started at the Royals Centre in Rainham and you can read all about it here; www.sycamoretrust.org.uk/latest/article/Alpha-Club-under-way%21

Thanks to funding from the Young Londoners Fund, we're now ready to start the identical programme at the Sycamore premises in Dagenham for high functioning young people.  We're planning a Thursday night, again between 6.30pm and 8.30pm and the criteria remains the same.  If your young person lives in B&D, Havering or Redbridge and is aged 10-16 with a diagnosis of Autism, then this project is available.  It's a life skills programme, designed at helping young people with Autism learn the key skills they need to reach their full potential, so we will be covering subjects like travel training, safe relationships, basic housekeeping and so on.  For more details, call Sue on 020 8517 9317 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. Meeting the Mayor!

Members of our Thursday evening group for young women went to visit the Mayor of Havering recently and were shown around the council chambers.  Mayor Dilip Patel is a great friend of the Sycamore Trust UK and invited the young ladies to tea after meeting them before Christmas at the Autism Hub in the Liberty Centre.  Here's our report; http://www.sycamoretrust.org.uk/latest/article/Parlour-Games%21
