Update - Relaunch

Thanks for your patience this year. We are pleased to announce that our relaunch, combined with a SEND Information event is on the 17th October at the Frenford Club, Ilford (pdf View the event flyer). We have over 35 stall holders coming along and are working in partnership with RIASS.

Why not come along – it will be great to see you-and you can tell us what improvements you would like to see in SEND services. We can then pass your ideas on.

We also plan to host coffee mornings on the 8th and 21st of November and then on the 5th December

Welcome to our website.

Are you a parent or carer of a child or young person with special educational needs or a disability aged 0-25 living in Redbridge? Do you want better services for them?

We help parent carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and disabilities to improve and make positive changes to not only their lives but also the lives of their families. We do this by providing information, support and training to empower them to take part in helping to shape local services and make a difference in Redbridge.

Membership is open to family members and carers of any child or young person with special educational needs and disabilities up to the age of 25 and who live in or receive services from Redbridge.

Associate membership is also available for practitioners, within the Voluntary, Private and Public sectors.

Can you help?

Child Development Unit

Disability Living Allowance. Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children may help with the extra costs of looking after a child who:

  • is under 16
  • has difficulties walking or needs more looking after than a child of the same age
  • who doesn’t have a disability.

Child In Need. Under the Children Act 1989, disabled children are described as being "in need".  Social Services have the lead responsibility for assessments and for ensuring the provision of services.  Other services have a duty to co-operate in supporting disabled children.
